Welcome to The Pink Palm Resort
Welcome to the Pink Palm Resort, a mind-blowing resort exclusively designed for children. A place where you can sit and lounge by the pool or take a dive and swim with mermaids. The Pink Palm Resort is a place where parents can let their hair down knowing their children are safe and sound with the official "Cabana Crew" on site. For about five minutes, take a walk with me through the Pink Palm Resort celebrating Nolan Noelle's First Birthday. Forty-two vendors came together, and it was totally a staycation to remember.
The Pink Palm is a special celebration because it's not only something I worked on for nearly a year, but it was also my baby girl's first birthday party. You know I had to bring the heat, right? Nolan traveled with me quite a bit during her first year of life, taking her first international trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I noticed during the vacations that she was so observant to the things that went on around the resort. She would move a little bit when music played (now she straight up dances). The cabana team, bartenders and random resort guests would fall in love with her; not wanting us to leave the resort. Scary and a little weird to me; but, she would always leave a lasting impression around the resorts we stayed in. Every trip, I doodled and made notes about our stay, the things I liked and disliked, the things that made me want to stay and more. I turned those doodles and notes into the "Pink Palm Resort" for kids.
Upon entering the Pink Palm, guests were greeted with a lei to party away, a VIP wristband, mini resort passports and a Cabana Crew member to guide them through the resort. The Pink Palm passport included all of the daily happenings and things to do around the resort, as well as milestones and fun facts about the birthday girl. Guests entered the rooftop to the sounds of steel drums (an island favorite of mine), Samba dancers, and a Carmen Miranda inspired stilt walker. Pink cabanas aligned the swimming pool where magical swimming mermaids and contortionists in floating spheres splashed around. There were activities galore which included henna, floral crowns (Who needs a Snapchat Filter with a real custom floral crown?), magical balloon creations, airbrush tattoos and face painting, a poolside Snack Shack with junk food galore, a canvas painting and doodle station, synchronized swimming resort shows, not one but two photo booths, and of course the Cabana Crew for safety. Adults enjoyed signature sips at the bar including the "Faded Flamingo", the "Sparkle. Strut. Shine. Mojito" and the signature "Pink Palm" cocktail. Guests enjoyed pizza poolside and warm "Tiffwich" cookie sandwiches from Tiff's Treats, one of my favorite things to eat during pregnancy.
After enjoying the resort activities, guests "checked into their rooms" on the 8th floor for a special surprise, the "Happy Birthday" song, a special prayer and dessert! Fast forward to the end of their stay, during checkout, guests were given pink popcorn, pink bubblegum and pink popsicles served curbside by Steel City Pops. I guess it's safe to say, The Pink Palm was POPPIN'!
